Abundant reward of biblical investment strategy

In my daily bible reading I came across a passage and I thought to myself: “Wow how encouraging. I should write something to our supporters and encourage them as well”. But life went on. A few days later a friend sent me the exact same scripture in a modern German translation. It grabbed me even more as when I read it a few days earlier. I went and looked up that scripture again. I tried to find an English translation that would put these verses as simple and powerful. I found it in the passion translation in 2 Corinthians 9. Here is what we can learn about the abundant reward of a biblical investment strategy:

1) Giving is contagious and will motivate others to give

2b I keep boasting to the churches of Macedonia about your passion to give, telling them that the believers of Corinth have been preparing to give for a year. Your enthusiasm is contagious—it has stirred many of them to do likewise.

2) A generous giver reaps an abundant harvest

Here’s my point. A stingy sower will reap a meager harvest, but the one who sows from a generous spirit will reap an abundant harvest.

3) God loves people who give willingly and cheerfully from the heart and not out of pressure

Let giving flow from your heart, not from a sense of religious duty. Let it spring up freely from the joy of giving—all because God loves hilarious generosity!

4) God is ready to give you more than enough of everything

Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.

5) Your kindness and extravagant generosity will be remembered by God

Just as the Scriptures say about the one who trusts in him:

Because he has sown extravagantly and given to the poor,
his kindness and generous deeds will never be forgotten.

6) God increases your harvest so that your generosity will grow

10 This generous God who supplies abundant seed for the farmer, which becomes bread for our meals, is even more extravagant toward you. First he supplies every need, plus more. Then he multiplies the seed as you sow it, so that the harvest of your generosity will grow.

7) God will enrich you in every way

11 You will be abundantly enriched in every way as you give generously on every occasion, for when we take your gifts to those in need, it causes many to give thanks to God.

8) Your giving initiates an outpouring of praise and thanksgiving to God

12 The priestly ministry you are providing through your offering not only supplies what is lacking for God’s people, it inspires an outpouring of praises and thanksgiving to God himself.

Investment principle

I was surprised to find Robert Kiyosaki - an American businessman and best selling author write about this principle to increase wealth. In his book "Rich Dad poor Dad" he writes:

My rich dad gave lots of money away. He gave to his church, to charities, and to his foundation. He knew that to receive money, you had to give money. Giving money is the secret to most great wealthy families. That is why there are organizations like the Rockefeller Foundation and the Ford Foundation... My educated dad always said, “When I have some extra money, I’ll give it.” The problem was that there was never any extra. So he worked harder to draw more money in, rather than focus on the most important law of money: “Give, and you shall receive.” Instead, he believed in: “Receive, and then you give.”

After all this principle originates from the greatest of all teachers. Jesus says in Acts 10:35 that ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ Therefore I want to praise and thank God for all our supporters who understand this biblical principle of investing to increase wealth. May you all experience these truths through your giving. May you never lack but overflow in abundance and may our Lord remember your good deeds forever.
